On 12th May 2016 the Ambassador of France Pierre Buhler presented the Insignia of Chevalier of the Legion of Honour to Alicja Bień, the Honorary Consul of France in Łódź. The solemn ceremony was held at the Ambassador’s Residence in Warsaw.
Alicja Bień received the award for her outstanding commitment to the activities of the French Community, as well for strengthening the relations between France and Poland in the field of culture and economy.
During the ceremony, Insignia of the Officer of the National Order of Merit were presented to prof. Marcin Pałys, the rector of the University of Warsaw, while Władysław Frasyniuk, former MP, opposition activist, co-founder of the party Unia Wolności received the Insignia of the Chevalier of the Legion of Honour.
